Upstate Buskers
Singing harmonies, playing guitars, and adding the occasional harmonica, drums, and bass! Keeping the playlist eclectic, folky, rocky, and little bit country.
Monkey and the Crowbar
Monkey and the Crowbar plays Americana music throughout the Mohawk Valley and Capital Region. Their playlist includes originals and favorites from The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, John Prine, The Band, and many more.
Fronted by Todd Herringshaw (guitar, vocals), band members Tree Casullo (percussion, vocals), Sharon Charles (upright bass) and Joe Sinchak (mandolin, fiddle, vocals) give an acoustic spin to tunes we all know and love. Their lively show entertains music lovers of all ages, all young at heart for sure.
The Alec Lewis Group
The Alec Lewis Group is formed and fronted by local sound engineer, producer and musician, Alec Lewis and features his own original songs and compositions. Hailing from Albany, NY, The ALG sports a fresh mix of contemporary funk influences from Cory Wong to Kruangbin, fused with guitar-driven classic rock and blues elements drawn from the likes of Dire Straits and David Gilmour, all topped with a modern pop sensibility and vocal stylings that firmly root the group and its sonic blueprint in our modern musical DNA.
Tops of Trees
Tops of Trees joins us for our annual Ugly Sweater Party!
An original Rock & Soul ensemble hailing from upstate New York quickly making a name for themselves in the Capital Region. With a sound built upon a strong foundation of drum and bass, classic organ, blistering vocals, and an unshakeable horn section, the band continues to thrill audiences with high energy performances and a modern interpretation of soulful music steeped in early R&B, funk and soul.
Releasing their debut EP The Tree House Sessions in 2023, Tops of Trees hit the airwaves with WEXT, WEQX, and Unsigned 518, resonating deeply with listeners on WEXT’s local songs of the year, also earning them consecutive Capital Region Thomas Edison Award nominations (The Eddie’s) for “Jam Band of the Year”.
Since then, the band has continued to climb, opening for Blues Traveler, Joan Osborne and Ben Folds, while also being featured on WMHT’s PBS show AHA!. Tops of Trees has showcased their electrifying performances at venues like Cohoes Music Hall, Putnam Place, Jive Hive Live, and Saratoga Springs New Year’s Eve Festival. Along the way, they’ve shared the stage with the Robert Randolph Band, Sqwerv, Suke Cerulo Band, and The Pat Mcgee Band.
Ugly Sweater Party
Our annual holiday party returns on Saturday, December 20! Wear your ugliest holiday sweater and join us for an evening of festive celebration featuring live music by Tops of Trees (6pm), food from Two For The Road, and desserts by Sweet Dee’s Pâtisserie.
Char Riley
Char Reilly is a singer, songwriter, & guitarist who has grown up right here in the Capital Region music scene, performing original songs and unique covers ranging from Brandi Carlile to Gnarls Barkley. Based out of Schenectady, you can find Char at a number of local breweries, restaurants, & venues, strumming their yellow Tele & and filling these spaces with live music.

Warren Sieme
The music of Warren Sieme, guitarist, singer, songwriter, participates in and contributes to the tradition of popular American contemporary folk. His music resonates with the unmistakable vibe of the seventies singer/songwriter genre, a fusion of contemporary folk and popular music. His vocal and musical style share the soothing and understated dynamics of popular artists like James Taylor, and project a warmth and sensitivity embraced by both baby boomers and millennials. He shares personal insights and observations in songs that resonate with audiences everywhere.

Kilashandra is a Contemporary Celtic Influenced jam band with Mark Emanation, Chris Gil, Eileen Markland and Tom Dolan.
Unken Brew
The Unken Brew Bluegrass Trio is “visually exciting to watch,” writes Bill Healy of Adirondack Bluegrass League. In 2024 Bruce Thompson and David Leiberman took their casual jamming to the next level and formed Unken Brew. With the addition of Sam Katz in early 2025, this trio has become an exciting group that blends bluegrass, blues and Americana, featuring songs from some of the world's greatest songwriters as well as their own original tunes. They’ve independently performed with Greensky Bluegrass, the Hackensaw Boys, Shakey Graves, Andy Statman, and even one of the Marsalis’s. Whether it’s a haunting ballad, cooking train song or good ol’ stomping blues Unken Brew will get your feet wiggling.
The Retrobilleze
The Retrobilleze music style is a unique blend of rockabilly, Americana, and classic country, with a dash of punk influence. His sound is often described as a mix of Sha Na Na, Johnny Cash, and Elvis, with lyrics that explore themes of nostalgia, cars, and everyday life.
As the frontman of Kevin Wayne and the Retrobilleze band features upbeat, energetic rhythms and catchy melodies, with a strong emphasis on storytelling through his lyrics. Think retro vibes, beachy tunes, and a whole lot of rockabilly swagger!
The Trojan Horns
The Trojan Horns Brass Band is a dynamic brass band originally from Upstate New York that infuses soul, funk, pop, jazz, and a sprinkle of that irresistible New Orleans groove into every note they play.

Embe Esti is a Capitol-Region intercontinental fusion band that incorporates Afrobeat, North African, and Romani traditions into their soulful dance music.
Midnight Choir
Bluegrass endures because of bands like Midnight Choir that see limitless possibilities in the blending of mandolin, guitar, bass and voice. The twang and tenderness of the southern mountains whispers through the melodies of this new collection of original songs by upstate New York's Midnight Choir. Introducing melodic and playing techniques drawn from jazz, classical and global traditions, this is brilliantly arranged stringband music that stands out like a cool island in a sea of bluegrass that sometimes gets overheated.

2025 Listen Up Award Winner, Big Empty is one of the fastest rising and most in demand new bands in the Capital District. Big Empty brings the best of 90's & 00's rock, alt rock, pop punk and grunge while putting their own unique twist on a few older classics as well.
Rusticator
Rusticator is an Americana band with an acoustic spirit that has been entertaining Capital Region audiences since 2013. A wide range of influences inspires their heartfelt and well-hewn original songs, along with a set list that spans from Hank Williams to the Grateful Dead. Rusticator has performed at the FreshGrass Festival, Saratoga's First Night and the Freedom Park Concert Series and was recently nominated for 'Americana Act of the Year' at the Capital Region Eddy Awards.
Brother Junction
Brother Junction is a cover band for the people as much as for themselves. They play the music that people will know, but make sure it passes the test internally first. From Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel, Thundercat and Seal, to Stapleton and ZZ Top. Big Radio has been covering rock and pop hits in the Capital Region for many years!
The name, Big Radio, signifies that the music we play is heard regularly on your radio; and/or in today’s world on many pop/rock streaming services. And the music is wide-ranging, covering songs from diverse groups such as Fine Young Cannibals, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, Tears for Fears, Warren Zevon, Stephen Stills, and many others. With a driving rhythm and quality guitar/keys and vocals, you will enjoy the music and could even find yourself on the dance floor!
Head Sound
Head Sound is a dream pop/shoegaze band influenced by artists such as My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Ros, Slowdive, and Radiohead. Their catchy yet sophisticated vocal melodies seem to float atop the bold, hypnotic instrumentation carrying them. Lyrics of love, loss, and longing offer hope amidst suffering, peace within sorrow, and joy beyond pain.

TV Doctors
TV Doctors are an experimental instrumental trio from Upstate NY. The North and South Dakotas
The North & South Dakotas are an original folk & bluegrass band from Upstate, NY. The five piece band includes Zack Hay (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), Mark Retajczyk electric guitar and supporting vocal), Nayt Patenaude (dobro, mandolin, and suporrting vocal), Colin Hunt (Bass), and Connor Dunn (saxophone).
From quick pickin' grass tunes, to heartfelt ballads, The Dakotas bring a unique and original energy to the stage.

Our Other Brother
An Upstate NY Trio that performs a mixture of originals and covers in the classic, pop and rock vein. The band honors local area musician/songwriter Darrell Vernum (our other brother) with material written by him, and celebrates other classic singer/songwriters (Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty etc...), as well as a few of their own originals.
