Heading into this Labor Day weekend, allow me to wax poetic for a moment before I head off to “labor”. The interwebs reminds me of the origins of Labor Day:
“Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country”
People will undoubtedly argue to some degree about what constitutes labor…who works harder, whose job is too “easy” to be considered worthy of the day off. We here at the WHBC celebrate ALL of you, no matter what your job/work is because what you do matters! We challenge you to think about your vocation, your job, your career this weekend and remind yourself why you do what you do and celebrate that. For some it might just be the opportunity you need to “reset” your mind and start fresh in your current work or possibly even to make a change.
Whether you get to take a few days off this weekend or will have to work to service those who still need to buy gas, pay tolls, protect and serve the community, etc., we invite you to stop by the brewery this Thursday (today!) 4-9, Friday 4-9 or Saturday 12-8 to celebrate and to FILL THOSE GROWLERS for your weekend adventures!
Even better, today we are opening the FALL TREE OKTOBERFEST tap! Just a sip will have you reminiscing about summer whilst anxiously anticipating an exciting fall season!
